Spaghetti squash lasagna boat

I love a good lasagna but don't love the heavy feel that come with it so lets build a tasty satisfying meal that will take your tastebuds and results to a who new level.


Lets get cooking

What you’re going to need when spaghetti squash ( makes two servings)


One can of marinara sauce I recommend either primal kitchen brand or organic Ville


1 pound of ground turkey


Ricotta or( cottage cheese for a higher protein option) and Parmesan cheese


You’re going to cook your spaghetti squash in the oven whole at 400 for 35 minutes. You’re going to take it out and let it cool for 10 minutes.


Well, your spaghetti squash is cooking you’re going to toss your ground turkey into a sauce pan and cook it until it’s completely cooked. Once that has happened, you’re going to dump in your can of marinara sauce and let simmer until warm.


Once your spaghetti squash is cold enough to handle you’re going to cut it in half take out the seeds. And give it a nice little fluff. You can leave it in the shell or place it in a Pyrex pan.


Once you’re ready to add in the mixture, you’re going to spoon in half a cup of ground, turkey with marinara sauce into your spaghetti squash mixture, top with a little bit of ricotta cheese ( or if you chose to use the cottage cheese make sure you blend the cottage cheese for a creamy sauce like texture), and Parmesan and pop back in the oven at 350 until cheese has melted, and started to bubble. Garnish with some fresh parsley or basil.

Serve and enjoy

1 small spaghetti squash makes 2 servings
